Student membership for the Edinburg CISD is over 33,000 students and the District continues to grow at a rate of approximately 5% annually. The District offers a well balanced elementary curriculum with small classes which concentrate on strong oral and written language programs. Due to the proximity to Mexico, a bilingual program is crucial in helping many of our students cope with language and concept acquisition. The district provides a Pre-K program as well as a gifted and talented elementary program.
The De La Viña Team of administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, and community, in partnership with public and private agencies, is committed to provide the support, resources and academic rigor to ensure that all students achieve educational and social excellence.
At De La Viña Elementary, our mission is to prepare students to become independent thinkers, problem solvers, and life-long learners by providing a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum that allows for celebration of individual differences and learning styles. Effective communicators lead students to take responsibility for learning and establish values that will allow them to act with thoughtfulness and humanity.
