Red Ribbon Week is an annual drug prevention and awareness campaign held in October to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles. Participants wear red ribbons and engage in activities to show their commitment to a drug-free life and support the fight against substance misuse.

Origin:
The campaign began in 1985, following the murder of DEA agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, and is now the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention program. 
Purpose:
To raise awareness about the devastating impact of drug abuse and to encourage communities to take a stand for healthy, drug-free lifestyles. 
Symbolism:
